Structure
Youngtown Mayor: John A. McNally
In 1991, Mayor McNally graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Foreign Service. Mayor McNally received his Juris Doctor and Master's in Public Administration in 1996 from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and the Levin College of Urban Affairs. From 1998 until 2002, Mayor McNally served as Assistant Law Director for the City of Youngstown. From 2002 through 2004, he served as Law Director for the City of Youngstown.
Finally, he served as Mahoning County Commissioner from 2005-2012 and won the General Election to serve as Mayor of Youngstown on November 5, 2013. Mayor McNally formerly served as a Trustee for the Mahoning Valley Historical Society and formerly served as Trustee for Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, Park Vista Retirement Center, and the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership. Mayor McNally was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. He resides in Youngstown with his wife, Virginia and their two daughters, Cara and Casey.
Township Trustees:
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees. They are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two trustees are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it.
State law requires the township trustee to perform the following duties:[1]
-Keeping a written record of official proceedings.
-Managing all township property interests.
-Keeping township records open for public inspection.
-Attending all meetings of the township legislative body.
-Receiving and paying out township funds.
-Examining and settling all accounts and demands chargeable against the township.
-Administering township assistance under IC 12-20 and IC 12-30-4. ----- Performing the duties of fence viewer under IC 32-26.
-Providing and maintaining cemeteries under IC 23-14.
-Providing fire protection under IC 36-8, except in a township that is -located in a county having a consolidated city that has consolidated the -township's fire department under IC 36-3-1-6.1.
-Filing an annual personnel report under IC 5-11-13.
-Providing and maintain township parks and community centers under IC 36-10.
-Destroying detrimental plants, noxious weeds, and rank vegetation under IC 15-16-8.
-Providing insulin to the poor under IC 12-20-16.
-Performing other duties prescribed by statute.
An elected township fiscal officer serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in either the fiscal officership or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.

Juvenile Justice Center: The Juvenile Court has exclusive original jurisdiction concerning any child who they allege to be a juvenile traffic offender or a delinquent, unruly, abused, neglected, or dependant child. The court also hears and determines any action involving the care and temporary or permanent custody of children. The court’s jurisdiction also includes resolving matters concerning parentage; child-support; visitation; adult behavior concerning the care and condition of a child; and, certain issues dealing with abortion. In addition to probation and twenty four hour detention services, the Juvenile Court provides and/or supports many programs ranging from prevention to treatment.
Mahoning County Juvenile Court is an active member of the Ohio Family and Children First Initiative.

Sanitary Engineers: We provide treatment of Wastewater and Maintain the Sanitary Sewers for over 40,000 customers in eleven (11) of the fourteen Mahoning County Townships (no service in Berlin, Green or Smith (service provided by Alliance)) comprising the unincorporated areas of Mahoning County. We also provide Wastewater treatment for the City of Campbell, Poland Village, Craig Beach Village, New Middletown Village, and parts of Damascus, Ellsworth, and Petersburg. We have agreements to provide Waste Water Treatment for the City of Canfield and portions of Mineral Ridge in Trumbull County.
The Mahoning County Sanitary Engineering Department, under the direction of the County Commissioners also provides Drinking Water to over 1,500 customers in parts of North Jackson, Lake Milton, and Craig Beach. The source of our water is the Meander Reservoir supplied to us by agreement with the City Of Youngstown.

Austintown Township, founded in 1793, is a 5 square mile section of what used to be known as the Connecticut Western Reserve. It is located in Northeast Ohio approximately 60 miles from Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

The Ohio Racing Commission gave Penn National permission to move forward with the Mahoning Valley Race Course in May 2013. The $250 million development is located on Ohio Route 46, just south of Interstate 80 and was made open to the public on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Once its doors open on Sept. 17, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course will be open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Thoroughbred horse racing will begin Nov. 24 on the racino’s one-mile course.
